JAXON’s 900 Hay Street project has reached a recent milestone with the ‘topping-out’ of the tower structure. The roof slab (Level 27) was cast 16 January 2019, which completed a significant achievement of delivering a turn-around of 1 structural floorplate per week for the entire tower! This included the safe handling and placement of precast wall panels to the North and South elevation of the tower that were installed in the early hours one morning each week by the team.
The 2-level podium structure the East of the tower over the pedestrian and vehicular Right-of-Way has also now been structurally been completed. This podium structure involved the placement of precast wall and Deltacore floor planks during night-shift operations.
The logistics of constructing a building tower surrounded by and encompassing a live public access-way presents considerable staging challenges which the team has successfully navigated through.
Current work focuses include the structural works to the 2-level West podium structure, façade installation, services and fit-out activities. Project is due for completion mid-2019.
